Process a Creator-Enabled SoundCloud Download

Paste one public SoundCloud track link.

Checking access…
Quick answer

Check that the creator enabled the official download and that you have permission, then paste one public track link into the tool above and choose an available output.

SoundCloud's official download can provide the creator's uploaded file when the option is enabled.
MP3 is usually smaller; WAV and FLAC do not restore quality missing from the source.
The tool processes individual eligible public tracks, not whole playlists or private links.

SoundCloud Downloader Guide: How to Save an Authorized Track

Start with the creator's download setting

A SoundCloud downloader can help you save an eligible track in a format suited to your device or workflow. First check that the track is public, the creator has enabled its official download, and you have the right to save and use it. A track being publicly playable does not automatically give you permission to copy, publish, remix, or perform it.

If the creator offers a download, consider the original file first: on SoundCloud's website, sign in and look for Download file under the waveform. SoundCloud says that option provides the file in the format the creator uploaded. Its official download guide explains the setting and its limits. If you need a different compatible output, use the tool above for a supported, creator-enabled single track.

How to use the SoundCloud downloader

  1. Open the individual track on SoundCloud. Check its official download option and make sure you are allowed to use the track.
  2. Copy the track's public link. Paste the full URL into the tool at the top of this page. A track URL points to a single recording, not an artist profile or playlist.
  3. Choose an output. Select MP3, WAV, or FLAC when available. For MP3, choose a bitrate appropriate for the device and file-size limit. The available choices can depend on the source, duration, and your plan.
  4. Confirm permission and continue. Follow the on-screen instructions, including sign-in or any applicable wait. The page shows the processing cost before a paid task proceeds.
  5. Save the finished file. When processing completes, use the download button and check your browser's Downloads or Files location. Temporary download links expire, so save the file before the stated expiry.

The tool is intended for one public track at a time. It does not process playlists as a batch, private links, or tracks for which the creator disabled official downloads. If a shortened link is not accepted, open it in your browser and copy the full track address.

Official download or converted file: which should you choose?

Choose SoundCloud's official download when you want the file made available by the creator without asking a separate service to change its format. The original format and quality depend on what that creator uploaded.

Choose a converted file when you have a specific compatibility or editing need: for example, MP3 for a player that accepts MP3, or WAV for an editor that expects WAV. Conversion changes the encoding or container; it does not establish additional rights to the recording. Keep the original you are permitted to retain if you may need to make another version later.

For the main tool and its available options, see the SoundCloud downloader page. For a closer look at listening formats, read our audio format guide.

MP3, WAV, or FLAC: a practical choice

MP3 is a lossy format with broad device support and relatively small files. If storage or transfer time matters, start with MP3. A higher bitrate normally makes a larger file; it cannot restore detail that was absent from the source. The 320 kbps guide explains why a requested bitrate and source quality are different things.

WAV is useful when an audio editor or production workflow requires it. WAV files can be much larger than MP3, so check your device's storage and connection before processing a long recording. A WAV made from a lossy source does not recover the audio lost in that source.

FLAC is a lossless encoding format: it can preserve the data fed into the encoder, but it cannot turn a compressed source into a genuine original lossless master. Actual output availability, maximum file size, and track length depend on the current processing rules and plan. Use the format and size information shown by the tool rather than assuming every combination will work.

Example: a long DJ mix

Suppose you have permission to save a creator-enabled mix for an editing project. Check the source's official download first. If you need a smaller copy for a phone, compare the available MP3 options; if you need WAV for an editor, check the estimated size and plan limits before starting. For a mix containing other artists' recordings, permission from the uploader alone may not cover every later use: check the relevant rights before sharing or performing it.

What to do when a download does not work

The track cannot be verified. Reopen the original track on SoundCloud and check whether its creator currently enables downloads. A private, removed, region-restricted, or creator-disabled track may be unavailable. If the official option is absent, contact the creator or use an authorized source; do not try to bypass the restriction.

The link is rejected. Confirm that it points to one public track rather than a playlist, profile, or preview. Copy the full address from the track page and remove accidental spaces. If a short link fails, open it and try the full address.

The chosen output is unavailable. The track's duration, source characteristics, available formats, and your plan's file-size limit can affect the choices shown. Try an offered MP3 option or review the plan details before attempting a larger file.

Processing or transfer fails. Read the on-screen message first. A temporary network interruption is different from a track that is not eligible. If a temporary failure is reported, retry when the connection is stable; check your account for the current credit status before starting a new paid task. The download troubleshooting guide covers more checks.

The file seems to be missing. Check the browser's download history and the device's Downloads or Files folder. A completed processing task is not the same as a file saved successfully to your device. If the temporary link has expired, follow the options shown in your account or the tool.

Using a phone or tablet

Copy the link to the individual track in your browser, open this page, and paste it into the tool. Your browser may ask where to save the file or place it in the device's Downloads folder. A large WAV can take considerably longer to transfer over mobile data than an MP3. If a download stops, check free storage and your connection before retrying.

SoundCloud also offers app-based offline listening for eligible subscriptions; that is a different feature from receiving a transferable audio file. See SoundCloud's official guide linked above for its current mobile options.

Before saving or sharing

A creator-enabled download is a useful starting point, but a download button alone does not grant every possible reuse right. Check the track's license or ask the relevant rights holders before reposting, remixing, using it in a video, or performing it publicly. Our permitted-use guide and terms explain the considerations in more detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers for readers comparing options or troubleshooting before using the converter.

Can I download any SoundCloud track?

No. Use this tool for a public single track only when SoundCloud reports that its creator enabled an official download and you have the necessary permission.

Does converting a track to FLAC improve its quality?

No. FLAC can preserve the data supplied to its encoder, but converting a lossy source cannot restore detail that is already missing.

Can the tool download a whole playlist?

No. The current workflow handles one eligible public track at a time; it does not process a playlist as a batch.
